On The Big Story, it is reported that four states in India have detected the dreaded bird flu, Himachal Pradesh being the latest in the series, Rajasthan, Kerala, and Madhya Pradesh reported bird flu cases. The bird flu came amidst a pandemic. The concerns are much higher with respect to dealing with the crisis. Mirror Now discusses how the states are gearing up for the flu and what are preventive measures, and if there should be a ban on chicken or poultry food? The Ministry of Environment and Forest and Climate Change has issued guidelines to the respective states. Bird Flu has now been declared as a state-specific disaster in Kerala. Kerala has been put on high alert after an outbreak of bird flu in two districts, Kottayam and Alappuzha. More than 25,000 ducks in the region have died. Himachal Pradesh became the fourth state to report cases of Bird Flu after Rajasthan, Kerala, and Madhya Pradesh. In Himachal, around 1,800 migratory birds, most of them Bar-headed goose, have been found dead in the Pong Dam Lake sanctuary. Watch the video to know more!
