PM Trudeau on Toronto floods, Canada Public Transit Fund – July 17, 2024

Prime Minister Justin Trudeau briefly comments on the recent floods in Toronto ahead of his tour of a Toronto Transit Commission facility. During his tour, he speaks with facility workers about the new Canada Public Transit Fund, which will provide $30 billion over ten years to fund capital transit projects across the country. Finance Minister and Deputy PM Chrystia Freeland and Toronto Mayor Olivia Chow also deliver remarks.

Later, Minister Freeland is joined by Arif Virani (justice minister and local MP for Parkdale—High Park) and James Maloney (local MP for Etobicoke—Lakeshore) to comment briefly on the transit fund announcement.
