One of the questions that keeps coming up is how to plan trades. I don't use a percentage but instead I do my trade planning with price action based on my the dollar amount I'm willing to risk and the goals I am working to achieve. Sure a percentage stop is easier to do but that percentage can be a very different dollar amount based on price of the stock.
As an option trader those percentages can get very large very fast so we need a better method! I don't know about you but my bills come with a specific amount due not a percentage. Thus, I plan my trades with a specific dollar amount in mind that fits my personal tolerance for risk.
