DIY Faux Leather Journal Cover

Making a Faux Leather Journal Cover for bullet journaling etc. This is a really simple and fast sewing project. Hope you enjoy it!

MATERIALS:
Faux leather
Matching color thread
Elastic thread
Notebook

TOOLS:
Sewing machine
Utility knife or exacto knife
Aluminum ruler
Clips
Non-permanent fabric marker
Lighter (optional)

USEFUL TIPS:
I used clips instead of pins to hold the fabric in place for sewing. Clips don’t leave visible holes on the faux leather.

SAFETY NOTES:
Safety first! Always be careful with dangerous tools and make sure you know how to use them correctly. In this video I used a lighter to carefully melt the edges of the faux leather to make them smooth and neat. This only works on plastic based fabrics and is an optional step. Be careful with the flame!
