Across the world penpals meet for the first time in person.

So a high school friend got in touch a few years back Kari Harrison , and the topic of kids and pen pals came up.  
So our girls became penpals, which in this day and age means messenger and Roblox but the girls became good friends.
They finally got to meet in person for the first time. Yesterday.
