Drum Roasting Without Logging Software
Drum Roasting Without Logging Software is something I don't do often. Recently I needed to roast coffee on my Mill City 500 Gram drum roaster but my computer was unavailable. That means roasting coffee without Artisan (my logging software). So, I pulled out my pen, paper and a timer and recorded this video. To make things more interesting, I am roasting a smaller batch than normal so I am really out of my element.
I promote logging our roasts so we can learn how to improve our roasts. In today's video I calculate my ROR (Rate of Rise) on the fly and use the coffee roasting timer app which is available for free here at this link:

Drum Roasting Without Logging Software is a great exercise, getting in touch with smell, sight and not just following a line on a graph.
