This is what #shacarririchardson kept saying as of late. And with her wins so far this season in #trackandfield, she might actually be better than she ever was. And that’s something, given that she’s considered to be a fast-rising athlete in her teens, especially when she emerged on the national stage, winning the AAU Junior Olympics as a 16-year-old, which then cemented her as the No.1 ranked sprint recruit in the U.S. class of 2018.
Now, after a couple of controversy-filled years, Shacarri Richardson is back on the track to claim her title of being one of the greatest sprinters in the world. However, a few days ago, she suffered a defeat in the women's 100m event for the first time in 2023.
Sha’Carri Richardson was defeated by #JulienAlfred at the Gyulai István Memorial in Szekesfehervar, Hungary.
That said, let’s talk about who Julien Alfred is. Well, she is a Saint Lucian sprinter who won the silver medal in the 100 meters at the 2022 Commonwealth Games. She is also the joint North American indoor record holder for the 60 meters, and was the first woman in the NCAA to break the seven-second barrier over the 60 m. But of course that’s not all. She has a long list of awards, which I won’t delve into, as it will take too much time. And I mean, TOO MUCH.
