UPDATE: In the video I failed to delete column “JN9E019” (total females). It says to delete in the instructions, and is important that you do. The column represents all ladies with any schooling and will skew your Total_EDU calculation. Look at the numbers for Autauga County, Alabama that are shown in the Excel image in the instructions. If the Total_EDU in your data matches the 7369 shown in the image, you are good to go. If not, backtrack and fix it.

For this lab, we will explore the relationship of education and income in the US. One school of thought claims that the percentage of educated people drives the average income of counties. Other economists say it’s the density of college graduates that matters. We will test their theories using Geographically Weighted Regression, and display the results in a series of choropleth maps. In part one, I go over downloading and processing the data, along with setting up the ArcPro project, and making the first set of maps. If you found this video helpful, please like and subscribe. Thanks.
