Meghan Dempsey, MS, LCPC, LCAT, BC-DMT, NCC, CMA began her career working at Woodhull Hospital in Brooklyn, New York where she gained experience working on both the medically managed detox unit and the adult, inpatient psychiatric unit.   In 2011, she expanded her professional repertoire and began working in pediatric oncology at Memorial Sloan-Kettering.  She also completed a two-year Authentic Movement training from the New York Center for the Study of Authentic Movement.  Currently, she owns a holistic health and wellness practice in Annapolis, Maryland, offering dance/movement psychotherapy, Authentic Movement and ZUMBA classes.  

Meghan Dempsey has served two terms as the Treasurer of the American Dance Therapy Association (ADTA), the Chair of the Nominating Committee and the President of MD/DC/VA Chapter of the ADTA. As a result of her work as the Fundraising Chair for the New York Chapter of the ADTA, she received the ADTA’s Exceptional Service Award.  

Meghan Dempsey authored the chapter “Dance/Movement Therapy: An Effective Clinical Intervention to Decrease Anxiety and Support the Recovery Process,” which is published in "The Use of Creative Art Therapies with Chemical Dependence Issues." (2009) She is currently interested in focusing her practice on Perinatal Mood and Anxiety Disorders.
