Electric Circuit Basics

In this video, the basics of electric circuits are discussed. The components of an electric circuit such as wires, batteries, resistors, capacitors, and switches are introduced with their respective symbols. The concept of electromotive force and its relation to the potential difference or voltage of a battery is explained. The energy of an electric charge moving through a circuit is compared to that of a mass, and the effect of wires with zero resistance on the electric potential energy of charges is discussed. A color-coded demonstration of electric potential energy is also shown. Finally, the electric potential across a resistor and its relation to the direction of current is explained.
