Mario Kart Tour Hardly Became Less Infuriating

Mario Kart Tour recently got a major update adding a whole new Battle Mode to the game and removing the vast majority of gacha elements from the game. I'm not the biggest fan of Tour, but did the new changes & updates make Tour a better experience?
