Nuri boards the BAP Union and explores military exchanges between Korea and the world
On Sept. 10, the Peruvian Navy training ship BAP Union entered the Port of Busan. The ship visited Korea on a five day stay to commemorate the 60th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Korea and Peru. Korea and Peru have been constantly interacting in the military field. Korea’s naval ship “Gyeongju” and “Suncheon” were given to the Peruvian Navy, and in 2021, a bust of Admiral Yi Sun-sin, a famous naval commander of the Joseon Dynasty was erected at the Peruvian Naval Academy. “Diplomat Talks - Nuri's Day of Diplomacy,” is a series showing Nuri’s on-the-ground coverage of diplomacy. This week, Nuri met Peruvian soldiers and diplomats who arrived in Busan on board the BAP Union. On the occasion, Nuri looked at the current status of military exchanges between Korea and Peru and looked into the potential of Korea's military power. In addition, we looked at the background behind the growth of Korea's military power and its current status.

지난 9월 10일, 페루 해군 훈련함 ‘유니언함’이 부산항에 입항했다. 4박 5일 일정으로 한국을 찾은 유니언함은 한국과 페루의 수교 60주년을 기념해 한국을 찾았다. 한국과 페루는 군사 분야에서 꾸준히 교류하고 있다. 우리 해군 함정인 ‘경주함’과 ‘순천함’이 페루 해군에 공여되었고 2021년에는 페루 해군사관학교에 조선시대 명장인 이순신 장군의 흉상이 세워지기도 했다. 나누리 피디가 발로 뛰며 알아본 다양한 외교가 소식을 전하는 ‘디플로맷 토크 – 나누리 피디의 매우 외교적인 하루’. 이번 주에는 나피디가 부산항에서 페루 유니언함을 타고 온 페루 군인들과 외교관들을 직접 만나고 왔다. 이를 계기로 나피디는 한국과 페루의 군사 교류 현황을 살펴보고 한국 군사력의 저력을 알아봤다. 이와 함께 한국의 군사력이 성장하게 된 배경부터 한국 군사력의 현황까지 함께 짚어봤다.
