"The sound is breath taking,
"The sound is breath taking, very precise, and pretty much brings a tear to your eyes". It's a shame the video doesn't truly show the unbelievable sound that the Aeris music box makes. The sound is still impressive despite the video not being in high definition. You truly have to see this in person in order to fall in love with it.

This is a Limited Edition Final Fantasy VII Music Box that plays Aerith's Theme. According to ffmerchandise 1000 were made into production, but this number does not agree with the facts. No serial number passing 100 has ever surfaced on the web. If you have a music box that surpasses the 100 mark please send me a message with a picture (I have yet to receive one). Only three digits fit the serial #, not four which discards the 1000 claim, and zeros (ex:000) are never counted as part of a limited production process; everyone knows this. I would like to believe that the original number for release would be 777, this would be more fitting.
The theory behind the number of music boxes produced varies from collector to collector. Digicube went bankrupt during the production of these FF VII music boxes so they were not fully completed according to sources. Collectors have come up with their own theory that around 100 limited edition music boxes were fully licensed by Square and produced by Sankyo Orpheus. One theory suggests that during the halt of the production there were a certain amount of music boxes left but not fully developed, only the movement remained. It wouldn't make sense then how one would surface now (in a different box and package) and not any other. If there were indeed musical movements left over from that production era more would come to surface instead of just one. Sankyo does make custom music boxes so if you send them a "midi" file of the music you want created they will do it which seems to have been done for the current surfaced FF VII music box which would make it unofficial and "reproduced", not original.
So for now, according to the facts, it is safe to say that only 100 official Final Fantasy VII music boxes were released. To say otherwise would just be speculation.
