The primary teeth is a guiding light for the permanent tooth so the permanent tooth starts erupting the roots of the primary teeth starts getting resorbed and they slowly are pushed out of the socket. Once they are pushed out of the socket the permanent tooth takes the place. Between the age of 6 to 7 years permanent tooth starts erupting and replaces the deciduous tooth. The cuspids molars starts erupting between 9 to 12 years. So almost all the deciduous teeth are replaced by the permanent tooth. So between the age of 17 and 21 the third molar is the last tooth to erupt in the mouth.
