How do you know what you are studying or interested in if you don't have a point of reference?  Sure, sometimes we are completely in the dark about what we are interested in knowing more about and without any such point of reference...we cant read a book about that something or refer to information about whatever it is because it is the very first time that something has ever been seen or studied, and you are the first person EVER IN HISTORY, the pioneer of studying that something to see it, or think of it, or do it....it does happen and its awesome when it does, but at the same time, there's no need to "reinvent the wheel". We want to ADD TO the body of knowledge about something if it exists and refer to what other students before us in our generation or previous generations have recorded about the subject of our interest, otherwise we would never grow and progress in our knowledge about the world around us and have to keep starting over from person to person and generation to generation, which would suck.
We know a lot of things about various bird species and subspecies because of all of the scientists who have studied them before us...we can refer to that useful knowledge and build on it and learn from it....
This is why it is so important in Birding to know what kind of bird youare looking at when you are looking at one or studying it....
But how do you do that?  How do you correctly identify bird subspecies and distinguish them from one another so that you can access the bodies of knowledge that exist about them...Well youcan USE YOUR EYES....Well....YES AND NO..... some subspecies of birds look so closely the same that even experts cant tell them apart without studying the plummage and field markings on the bird....but the damn thing wont sit still will it? Sight is not 100% reliable in bird identification.

Sound on the other hand?

ROCK SOLID RELIABILITY

Every subspecies of bird has its  own UNIQUE song, call, or sound that it makes (called the birds "voice" in birding),

Part of the reason why this channel exists is to hopefully aid bird watching enthusiasts.... beginners and experts alike.. . in learning the different sounds calls and sounds made by individual bird species to aid bird enthusiasts in properly identifying and studying birds.  It is why this channel is so heavily focused on SOUND rather than any other characteristic in the body of videos presented...

Birding by ear, or learning to identify birds by sound, is  a valuable skill for any birder to develop. By understanding and recognizing bird sounds rather than relying on visual identification only, you can have a much richer and more enjoyable birding experience, and you will be able to identify birds when you can't always see them well.   Birders who recognize birds’ songs can also enjoy birding when low light levels and poor visibility may restrict visual birding or when getting a visual is difficult, when a bird is perched on a tree branch high above, sight of the animal obscured by the tree’s lower branches, for example.

EVERY BIRD SUBSPECIES HAS ITS OWN UNIQUE VOICE SO YOU CAN'T MISS ID'ING A BIRD CORRECTLY WHEN YOU KNOW WHAT IT SOUNDS LIKE...

When you start to learn the voices of birds, you begin to remember each one of those distinctive bird voices that you hear. The simple act of listening to the birds that surround you in nature, allows a person to distinguish between hundreds, even thousands of different species and subspecies of birds…

Of course, the best place to learn bird voices and the other sounds they make is outdoors, with the subjects calling right in front of you. Many people find it more effective to listen and watch at the same time, as the visual of the bird reinforces the audio memory. But when you can’t be out birding, you can take advantage of superb recordings and study aids such as this repository of the sounds, calls and sounds made by many differing bird species which are captured within the videos contained on this channel and others like it.

Considered from this vantage point, the importance of learning the sounds calls and sounds made by different bird species is evident AND THAT'S WHY THIS CHANNEL IS HERE.  The cool thing about it is that we aren't experts....so we are learning and growing in our knowledge with you so we welcome your comments and suggestions because we learn from them and we are far from knowing EVERYTHING about birds. So we hope to teach and learn at the same time in our interactions with youand over time make a video/audio repository of sounds, they being unique one subspecies to another, being a guide or point of reference that birders can use in their study or interest in varieties of birds.  So please like, comment, and subscribe because that's where more learning and teaching comes in...thank you
