Synology DS923+ Virtualization Capacity put
Synology DS923+ Virtualization Capacity put to the test. I have been looking forward to do this test for a while and just got around to do it. We will try to see how well the Synology DS923+ AMD Ryzen CPU can handle the load.
In a nut shell, in this video i will be putting the Synology DS923+ Virtualization Capacity to the test by powering on virtual machines one after the other. since the boot up process is the most CPU demanding process, i am going to let the first virtual machine load and only then power on the next one.
The Synology DS923+ is featuring an AMD Ryzen CPU with only 2 cores and 4 threads unlike its predecessor the Synology DS920+ which its Intel CPU has 4 cores and 8 threads. will the AMD Ryzen CPU be able to handle the virtualization load, that's the question.
For this Synology DS923+ Virtualization Capacity test i have created several Ubuntu server virtual machines as well as some Windows Server 2022 core virtual machines which we will be testing with. My goal is to aim for density so the ubuntu virtual machines are just CLI and no desktop interface and the Windows Server machines are core and no desktop interface.
Overall the Synology DS923+ Virtualization Capacity tests was very straight forward but the results were really surprising as for how well the AMD Ryzen CPU in the Synology DS923+ handled the load.
