Ingredients:
Kunafa dough – 500g
Butter, melted – 225g
Oreo cookies – 10
To prepare the Oreo Kashta:
Thick cream – 1 cup
Milk – 1 cup
Oreo cookies – 6
Flour – 4 tbsp
To prepare the sugar syrup:
Sugar – 2 cups
Water – 1 cup
Lemon juice – 1 squeeze

Preparation:
1- To prepare the sugar syrup: combine water and sugar in a saucepan on medium heat. Stir until sugar dissolves completely. When the mixture boils, remove from heat and add a squeeze of lemon juice. Leave aside to cool.
2- To prepare the Kashta: combine milk and flour in a saucepan. Whisk until flour is completely dissolved. Finely crush the Oreo cookies using a chopper or a rolling pin, until you get a powder. Add the thick cream and crushed Oreos to the milk mixture. Put on low heat, stirring from time to time using a wooden spoon until the mixture thickens. Leave to cool for a few minutes only.
3- Mix Kunafa dough and butter in a big bowl, until all dough is covered.
4- Split Oreo cookies into 2 and place them on the bottom of a 30 cm pan. Cover with 2/3 of the kunafa dough. Press the dough with your hands. Spread the warm kashta on top of the dough and cover with the remaining dough.
5- Bake in a 1800C preheated oven on the middle rack until golden brown, around 40-45 minutes. Remove from oven and leave to cool for 10 minutes. Flip over serving dish. Pour sugar syrup over the kunafa and serve hot or warm.
