Begin by selecting who can see what you share and start to change all the settings to only me. Change everything you see to only me to make them completely private.
You can also change your friend's lists and who you follow to only me.
You can also change past posts and limit who can see them.
The second option is related to how people can find you. You can limit who can send you a friend request as well.
Then change how your data is managed on Facebook and change tagging settings as well.
