Come along on a hike up to Shelf Lake on June 4, 2024. This is one of my favorite hikes and I try to do it once a year. This adventure begins at the Shelf Lake Trailhead and follows the Shelf Lake Trail, covering a distance of 7 miles (11km) with an elevation gain of 1,951 feet.

The trail presented a unique challenge with plenty of snow above 11,000 feet, requiring me to take my snowshoes on and off multiple times. I filtered water from streams along the way to stay hydrated. The hike started off under cloudy skies ☁️ but turned sunny ☀️ on the way down, making for a beautiful and varied experience.
