The euphoria around Vikram, isn’t excitement to watch a good movie, it’s a dedication to watch the movie regardless of how good or bad it is, and what it says because your fav actor is in it. That’s an extremely weaponizable emotion a filmmaker would lean towards when working with big movie stars, and rightfully so. Why not use something that’s available, and bring more people to watch your film. But is that where you stop? How about bringing me in and then showing me a god film, adding to the culture?
