As we discover the incredible region of Alula in Saudi Arabia, we come across an architectural gem of 9740 MIRRORS unique in the world. The largest mirrored building in the world: Maraya Hall.
And our discoveries don't stop there: breathtaking nature between desert and oasis, spectacular and mystical rock formations, petroglyphs and fascinating archaeological mysteries, luxury hotels costing several thousand euros a night, works of art art in the middle of the desert, autonomous shuttles and more great encounters!
In its 2030 vision, due to the unique archaeological, historical and geological riches of this area, Saudi Arabia wishes to make it its cultural capital and the largest open-air museum in the world, on an area equivalent to that of Belgium.
Since 2017, the main objectives for this region have been the protection of natural spaces and the development of its cultural heritage, with the creation of a protected reserve and the first exceptional archaeological discoveries to make it an essential tourist destination, which in its phase of development, turns first to luxury.
France signed an agreement in 2018 with the kingdom for this major project. It plays a key role in all key areas of the project: museography, town planning, archaeology, tourism, agriculture, perfumery, management. Thus AFALULA was born: The French Agency for the development of ALULA.
The project is expected to cost $13 billion, create 40,000 jobs and welcome 2 million tourists each year.
