Saving 'Project Cuddle' founder

Debbe Magnusen, founder of Project Cuddle, a Los Angeles-based nonprofit dedicated to saving babies from abandonment, turned to Fresno Heart & Surgical Hospital to save her own life. Debbe had her first bariatric surgery in 2004. A rare condition caused over-active scarring internally, which required multiple follow-up surgeries at UCLA. When scarring caused a blockage in her stomach, Debbe’s UCLA Medical Center doctor sent her to an international expert in minimally-invasive bariatric revision surgery, Dr. Kelvin Higa at Fresno Heart & Surgical Hospital.
