Here's a shootout between a few of the most popular Shure dynamic microphones from the 1960's - 1970's! All of the models being tested today (with the exception of one modern SM57), were made in the USA. The microphones being included in the shootout are one Shure SM7, Shure SM5B, Shure SM56, Shure 546, Shure 545, Shure SM57 (Unidyne III), Shure 548, and a modern Shure SM57. My hope is that this video will offer some insight into how each of these microphones sounds on guitars, drums, and vocals.
