Deriving Kepler's 3rd Law & Calculating the Period of a Satellite

In this physics derivation we use Newton's law of universal gravitation as well as the equation for centripetal force to derive Kepler's 3rd Law.  Kepler's law was originally published based only on observation; It was not until Newton that the law was able to be validated through maths.

This problem is an essential derivation in most introductory physics courses including AP Physics 1 and AP Physics C Mechanics.
