As a small business owner
As a small business owner you're going to be making decisions now about software purchases that could impact your business for a very long time. There seems to be a frenzy of putting everything 'on cloud' and in many cases it's becoming the norm. This is a really dangerous situation. As someone experienced in this line of business I wanted to give you fair warning of some of the problems you might encounter by going down the cloud route. Cloud can be great in many, many scenarios, however a lot of big companies are switching to cloud-based subscription licensing models for no other reason than to make more money and stabilise their income stream in the interests of shareholders. This could have very negative implications for your business so hopefully you'll come out of this armed to make some better long term decisions.
