Doors to this park are open daily from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. and there is an entry fee of US $ 5 per car which can be paid by credit card.

A short paved path followed by a staircase leads to an observation platform that offers a panoramic view of the Aiguille de Iao (Iao Needle), a narrow rock formation covered with greenery that rises to 1,200 feet at the bottom of the valley.
The vegetation of the Iao Valley is lush and the magnificent landscape offers excellent opportunities for photo enthusiasts.
Another staircase starts from this platform and leads to a small house located at the top of the hill, thus offering another perspective of the valley.
Historically, this valley was the site of an important battle in 1790, that of Kepaniwai where King Kamehameha I conquered the army of Maui.
The majority of visitors only go to the observation platform. However, there is a staircase that leads to a path that runs along the Iao stream located in the hollow of the valley.
This stream is formed by several small natural pools in which it is possible to swim, whether you go to the right or to the left.
We also took the opportunity to refresh ourselves in one of them.
