In this video, from SITECH Intermountain you will learn the basics of Depth and Slope in Trimble Earthworks. We will cover how to set and use depth and slope references, as well as how to create a sloping plane.

To set a depth reference, press and hold the Depth Offset soft key. Use the down arrow soft key to create a new depth offset. Use the arrow keys to enter the target depth. Save the new depth offset by pressing the Enter key.

To set a slope reference, press and hold the Slope soft key. Use the down arrow soft key to create a new slope. Use the arrow keys to enter the target slope. Save the new slope by pressing the Enter key.

To create a sloping plane, use the Main Fall soft key. Enter the desired main fall value. The main fall value is the amount of slope that will be applied to the plane in degrees. For example, a main fall value of 10 degrees will create a plane that slopes down 10 degrees from the horizontal.

Once you have set a depth and slope reference, you can use them to guide your excavator. To do this, simply position the excavator so that the depth and slope references are aligned with the desired depth and slope of the cut. The excavator will then automatically follow the depth and slope references as you move it.

Depth and slope references can be used to create a variety of cuts, including trenches, ditches, and embankments. They can also be used to create more complex shapes, such as ramps and stairs.

Depth and slope references are a powerful tool that can help you to improve the accuracy and efficiency of your excavation work. By learning how to use them, you can save time and money, and produce a better finished product.

Here are some additional tips for using Depth and Slope in Trimble Earthworks:

* Use the Depth and Slope Warnings to help you avoid overcutting or undercutting.
* Use the Depth and Slope History to track your progress and make sure that you are staying on track.
* Use the Depth and Slope Templates to save time and create consistent cuts.
* Use the Depth and Slope Calculator to help you calculate the volume of material that you need to remove.

With a little practice, you will be able to use Depth and Slope in Trimble Earthworks to create accurate and efficient cuts.
