Woodturning a large walnut slab

This piece of walnut was a difficult piece to work on. It’s a beautiful piece wood, but the end grain cracks began to show up as I removed wood. I worked on it for days. And everyday more cracks would appear. I decided to fill the cracks with epoxy. I had so many I thought it would be best to just cover the whole thing with black epoxy and then turn the epoxy off leave the filled cracks when I was done. Well that sorta worked. When I turned it more cracks would appear. It was never ending. I decided to coat the whole piece with epoxy and just fill the cracks with clear epoxy when it was done. However the weather would not cooperate. It turned cold and has lasted for months. I decided to show the video without the epoxy coating. I’ll save that for another day.
