In this video, I will provide an in-depth explanation of how to connect an older video camera or other RCA device to an HDMI projector, TV, or video switch with an adapter
Do you have an old family video on Digital Hi8 and are looking for a way to play them back on your projector or TV, but your TV only supports HDMI? With an inexpensive adapter, you can connect most Digital 8 or video cameras that have some type of RCA connection. This “how-to” will show you how.

The same method can be used for connecting a Wii, VCR or other RCA connected device
EVENT TIP - Showing old videos is great for the family reunion. If renting a screen, your outdoor movie provider may have the option of renting adapters from them, however having this on hand is a great option (most providers like funflicks will be able to connect your equipment via HDMI, if another connection is required be sure that it is stated in the contract). Always double-check what connections they accept. Having an adapter on hand is a great idea.
Want to capture your old videos into a digital format. Your latest computer does not have firewire? You can also use a device like the RCA to HDMI adapter, coupled with a HDMI to USB to convert your old VHS or Digital Hi8 tapes. Use the same method to capture your favorite gameplay from old consoles like the Wii.
