A new star among Berlin's
A new star among Berlin's underground stations - the Museum Island station.
The construction work was extremely complicated, the ground had to be frozen for months, all conceivable special civil engineering methods were used.
In the end it worked and with the opening of the Museum Island station on July 9th, 2021, the U5 gap between Alexanderplatz and the main train station was officially closed.
Now you can also take the subway directly to the Humboldt Forum in the Berlin Palace. But many will also do it the other way around and, in addition to the exhibitions, visit the Museumsinsel underground station.
This video gives an impression of the new station and provides background information on the construction and architecture of the station, designed by the architect Max Dudler.
The highlight, of course, are the blue, starry skies above the platforms with 6662 points of light.
