এটি মূলত থাইল্যান্ডের আম। আমটি পাকার সময় কলার মতো হলুদ বর্ণের হয় দেখে একে আমাদের দেশে ব্যানানা ম্যাংগো বলে ডাকা হয়। একে থাই মহাচানক আমও বলা হয়। গত কয়েক বছরে নওগাঁয় ব্যানানা ম্যাংগো চাষে ঘটেছে বিপ্লব। নওগাঁর আবহাওয়াতে ভালো ফলন হচ্ছে এই আমের।পরিপক্ক একটি আমের ওজন ৩০০ গ্রাম থেকে ৩৫০ গ্রাম হয়ে থাকে। জুনের শেষ দিকে ও জুলাইয়ের শুরুতেই পাকে। আমটির মিষ্টতা ভালো। এই আমটি মিষ্টতা আমাদের ল্যাংড়া আমের মত।
প্রচলিত জাতের চেয়ে এ আমে ফলন দ্বিগুণের বেশি হওয়ায় সাপাহারে ব্যানানা ম্যাংগোর বিশাল বড় বড় বাগান গড়ে উঠছে। বাজারে ব্যাপক চাহিদার পাশাপাশি চাষ লাভজনক হওয়ায় দিন দিন বাড়ছে ব্যানানা আমের বাগান। ব্যানানা ম্যাংগো খুব মিষ্টি এবং আঁশবিহীন আম। স্বাদে-গন্ধে অনন্য এ আমের দামও বেশি। চাষপদ্ধতি সহজ হওয়ায় এ আম চাষ করে আর্থিক সচ্ছলতার মুখ দেখছে চাষিরা। দেরিতে পাকার কারণে দামও বেশি পাওয়া যাচ্ছে।
