A BBC investigation has revealed
A BBC investigation has revealed no evidence journalist Martin Bashir was rehired to cover-up events surrounding the 1995 Princess Diana interview.
The investigation into Mr Bashir’s rehire for the role of religion correspondent comes just one month after the Dyson report into how the Panorama interview was secured.
Mr Bashir had been criticised for acting in a deceitful way to secure the exclusive interview including falsifying and covering up bank statements.
Questions were raised about why Mr Bashir was rehired after it became known there was a cover-up but it was ultimately found to be because Mr Bashir was the “best match to the requirements for the role”.
