The NanoPi R2S has 2 Gigabit Ethernet ports and powered by the Rockchip RK3328 SoC. It has 4 cores running at 1.3GHz. The board also has 1G of DDR4 RAM, which should be more than enough to run OpenWRT. In this video, let's have an overview of the NanoPi R2S and its performance with OpenWRT.
At the time of making this video, the R2S is running OpenWRT 21.02.3 stable release.The OpenWRT installation is very simple, all you need to do is downloading the firmware and write it to the microSD card with Rufus or your preferred application.
Please do not confuse between the NanoPi R2S and the NanoPi R2C - where the Realtek RTL8211E Gigabit Ethernet transceiver had been replaced with the MotorComm YT8521S Gigabit Ethernet transceiver.
