CONTENT IN THIS VIDEO

This video is an Urdu/Hindi description of a famous figure of speech ‘Allegory’ which is widely used in literature of almost every language. I explained it in a very simple way with a few examples from famous pieces of fiction. You will find this video very helpful for a better understanding of this term. Below is an English sample from the content of this video.
“So, such a story is called Allegory, whose characters are portrayed as the physical form of certain ideas and principles. The purpose is to explain a principle and to convey a moral lesson to the reader. You know that truth, falsehood, honesty, goodness, evil, jealousy, laziness, consistency, inconsistency etc., are all concepts in our mind. They are not visible to the human eye, nor can they be touched. They have no image. That is why they are called abstract concepts. That is, any thoughts or ideas that are not visible. What happens is that the author of Allegory presents these abstract concepts in his story in a living and concrete form. For example an animal, a bird, a particular human being, or even some other character that the writer creates with his own imagination. These characters are used as symbols of different concepts. In addition, Allegory can also be a picture or a painting on which certain characters represent certain ideas.”
یہ ویڈیو تمثیل کے بارے میں ہیں۔ اس میں آپ کو تمثیل نگاری کی تعریف، وضاحت اور انگریزی ادب سے لی گئی کچھ مثالیں ملیں گی۔ جن کی مدد سے آپ کے لئے اس ادبی اصطلاح کو سمجھنا کافی آسان ہو جائے گا۔
