Our Nofloods barriers were used in an essential exercise in the municipality of Rubiera, located in the province of Reggio Emilia, Italy.
The exercise was organized by the provincial civil protection of Reggio Emilia, which involved several municipalities, including technicians and managers from the Emilia Romagna Region.
Flooding of the Tresinaro stream was simulated. In response, it took just 4 hours for the technicians and volunteers to deploy two sections of 400 meters of the NoFloods barriers (800 meters in total) with a double tube height of 125 cm.
They were able to successfully contain the simulated flood.
𝐇𝐨𝐰 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐅𝐥𝐨𝐨𝐝 𝐁𝐚𝐫𝐫𝐢𝐞𝐫 𝐖𝐨𝐫𝐤𝐬
The barrier, which is easy and quick to deploy, is first filled with air and then water (the threat).
It can then effectively protect against flooding even during storm surges.
The NoFloods barrier can be used to protect residential areas, industrial sites, warehouses and critical infrastructure such as hospitals, schools, museums, roads, railways, etc.
The barrier can also create a dry work area within a body of water (a cofferdam) or for land reclamation.
