Tokio Myers - Clair De Lune [Paris Edition]

Born & raised in London, U.K, Tøkio M¥ers set out to create an emotive short-documentary-style music video with French film director Killian Lassabliere - They both chose to capture the city’s night life in Paris, France - The city where Debussy lived for most of his life & wrote the deeply moving masterpiece, ‘Clair de Lune’.
  Tøkio says, “Cities such as London & Paris are microcosms of human existence, reflecting the full spectrum of human emotions and experiences in all their complexity and diversity.
Bringing with them a kaleidoscope of experiences, cultures, and emotions”.

Claude Debussy’s ‘Clair de Lune' takes its title from an atmospheric poem by the French poet Paul Verlaine which depicts the soul as somewhere full of music, where birds are inspired to sing by the 'sad and beautiful' light of the moon.
At its core, "Clair de Lune" is a manifestation of raw emotion, an ethereal journey through the delicate intricacies of human experience.
Its haunting melodies and evocative harmonies paint a vivid portrait of longing, nostalgia, and the transient beauty of life itself - Its evocative power lies in its ability to transport listeners to a place of introspection, where they can contemplate the beauty and transience of life.
Some may find solace and comfort in its soothing melodies, while others may be moved by its underlying sense of longing and introspection.
   For Tøkio, this piece resonates on a deeply personal level, serving as a vessel through which he can express his innermost thoughts and feelings.

Tøkio invites listeners on a journey of self-discovery, inviting them to explore the vast landscape of emotions that lies within each of us - he says, “collectively, it’s the ‘us’ that make cities & life so unique & special”.
In the quiet moments of reflection and introspection, both Tøkio’s performance & docu-visuals serves as a reminder of the fleeting nature of time and the importance of embracing every moment with grace and gratitude.

Tøkio says, “This is an art piece to say ‘thank you’ to both my city (London) and Paris for what it’s given me..”.
