This barrage of deadly bullets comes from Kashtan, a system so deadly it could destroy the very ship it protects!
It is a Russian Close-In Weapon System armed with a combination of guns and missiles capable of destroying 99% of incoming threats like anti-ship missiles and aircrafts.
Armed with individual radar, electro optical, and infrared sensors, it automatically tracks and engages targets in two layers.
Layer 1
The twin six-barreled AK 630 rotary cannons execute the initial strike on targets. Firing at a devastating 10,000 rounds per minute, the entire ship rattles and a whole bunch of its screws come loose!
Layer 2
The elusive targets then face eight radio-guided 9K311 surface-to-air missiles, backed up by 32 redundancies in its magazine and an intricate sighting system.
Unlike the American C-RAM which operates autonomously, Kashtan is fully integrated into the ship’s combat system. How ingenious!!!?
