The back focusing DSLR is
The back focusing DSLR is not an urban legend as some claim. The autofocus module in your camera is fixed in place by 3 screws and 3 coil springs. Because the springs push against the screws, over time, the screws move. Sometimes you need to adjust them.
This demo is made on a Nikon D90 but many cameras are similar so you should not have a problem if you have a different model.
The AF module is suspended by 2 screws on one side, and one screw on the other side. I suspect it's more likely that the single screw gets out of position so it's best to start adjusting that one.
It's a trial and error process. Adjust, and test, and adjust again.
If you have never done anything like this before, it may seem like a lot of hassle but a camera out of focus is a worthless camera. This calibration can be done in an hour or so. It's worth it to get it done.
**Once you get a perfect calibration for one lens (one setting) it may not be perfect for another lens. Long lenses and wide lenses have different characteristics.**
