Throttle Valve and Throttle Check Valve | Speed Control | Introduction to FluidSIM | Tutorial 5

This video shows the differences of throttle and throttle check valves. Two circuits are designed in which throttle and throttle check valves are used. In the first pneumatic circuit, the speed of a single acting cylinder is controlled by a throttle valve. It is shown with the use of a throttle valve, we can reduce the actuation speed of a single acting cylinder. However, with throttle valve, we have less flexibility in the speed control as the speed of advancing and retraction will be the same. In the second example, we use throttle check valve to control the speed of double acting cylinder. Two throttle check valves are connected to the double acting cylinder. It is shown that we can adjust the speed of advancing and retraction with the use of these throttle check valves.
