Refrigerator waterline leak clever fix, detailed step by step repair instructions

GE Profile Refrigerator - Water supply line dried, cracked and leaked and I have an ingenious little fix if I do say so myself. Instead of having with as new part, I took about 20 minutes to cut off the failed section, take a few loops out of the coiled section of same line and extend the newly loose hose to make the repair. I then put in a foil heat shield to mitigate the heat from the heat exchanger located right next to the hose.
