(17 Nov 2021) MEG RYAN TO CELEBRATE 60TH BIRTHDAY
"When Harry Met Sally" star Meg Ryan will celebrate her 60th birthday on Friday (19 NOVEMBER 2021).
The Hollywood actor, real name Margaret Hyra, was born in Fairfield, Connecticut, in 1961.
While studying journalism in New York, she starred in soap opera "As the World Turns" (1982 to 1984) to make some money.
Her big break came in 1986 whe she was cast alongside Tom Cruise in blockbuster movie, "Top Gun."
She then went on to become the queen of romantic comedies, starring in a run of hits including "Sleepless in Seattle," You've Got Mail" and "When Harry Met Sally..."
The later features a scene that has become an iconic cinema moment, in which Ryan fakes an orgasm in a cafe, leaving her co-star Billy Crystal speechless.
Ryan married actor Dennis Quaid in 1991 and had a child together, Jack. But the marriage ended in divorce in 2001. In 2006, Ryan adopted her daughter Daisy, now age 17, from China.
She later dated singer John Mellencamp for eight years, splitting in 2019.
