I had booked myself on
I had booked myself on an epic flight originating in South East Asia - the review of that experience will be along in a few weeks - which meant I needed to get to South East Asia to take it. So I looked at availability on Qatar airlines - since they adopted avios as their frequent flyer currency they've been an exceptional option for getting to that part of the world with a minimal cash outlay.
I couldn't bring myself to pay the extortionate tax levied on flights out of London, and the timings didn't work so well, so decided to fly out of Dublin which is fast becoming my go to departure city for longer flights. Even though you have to pay to get to Dublin, it still costs less overall than the UK taxes you're avoiding...
No QSuite on this lower volume routing, but Qatar offered their 787 version of business class, which is still an excellent business product. And this is my review of that experience!
