Hello everyone, this is Ssin. Today, I've made an in-depth review of deodorants for summer use. How do deodorants actually prevent sweat? What ingredients provide this function? Through this video, I also found out that deodorants can be categorized into three main types.

💧Antiperspirant Ingredients (aka Aluminum Chloride Hydrate)
These ingredients, which you can identify by labels such as 'Aluminum Chloride', 'Aluminum Chloride Hydrate', and 'Aluminum Chlorohydrate', actually form a gel when they come into contact with sweat, blocking the sweat pores and effectively preventing sweating. Famous brands like Nivea and Dove commonly use these ingredients. Products like Driclor and North Asian Sense, available over-the-counter at pharmacies, contain a high concentration of these ingredients. In my opinion, if you want to see the full effect of this ingredient, it's better to buy pharmacy items.
[Pharmacy items]
Pros: If applied continuously for several days, it genuinely stops sweat and keeps you dry.
Cons: Can cause stinging, itching, can't be used on the face, and can cause sweating in other areas unexpectedly.

💧Antiperspirant Ingredient (aka Glycopyrrolate)
This ingredient in Sweatrol for facial sweat works as an anticholinergic agent affecting the central nervous system's sweat production. It's also used in prescription oral medications for hyperhidrosis patients. Although I haven't personally experienced any side effects, many reviews mention avoiding it due to eye-related side effects.
Pros: Convenient to use as a pad, stops sweat immediately.
Cons: Can cause eye side effects (blurred vision, dilated pupils).

💧Antibacterial and Moisture-Absorbing Agents: Potassium Alum, Ammonium Alum (aka Alum)
Known as the main ingredients in crystal deodorants, Potassium Alum and Ammonium Alum are natural minerals that serve as alternatives to aluminum. Instead of blocking sweat pores, these alums use their antibacterial, moisture-absorbing, deodorizing, and preservative properties to prevent the bacteria in sweat from producing ammonia.
Targeted at those who are wary of aluminum, these are marketed as 'natural'. However, as I mentioned in the video, the amount of aluminum absorbed by the body through deodorants is minimal, and there is insufficient evidence linking it to dementia or cancer.

💧Naturally Derived Ingredients
Other ingredients, aside from the three mentioned above, are cosmetics that leverage their slight antibacterial, deodorizing, and moisture-absorbing properties. The advantage of these safe ingredients with almost no side effects is also their drawback, as their effectiveness is often minimal.

I hope you find this review helpful in choosing the right deodorant for you this summer.
