Emma & Robby go on adventure with store proprietor Olivia to explore vegetable farms and ranches as well as dairy cattle, compost, and other facts about agriculture and farming. It's an excellent vocabulary building book for children, helping them understand the five food groups as well as where food comes from - from farm to farm, from farm to city, and from farm to market. Children will have fun solving the market mystery, as well as exploring agriculture. It ends with a family-style meal, and discusses mixed foods that contain ingredients from multiple food groups. It is an excellent reading and vocabulary building tool for first, second, and third graders as well as later grades that are exploring food, nutrition and agriculture. The five food groups as defined in MyPlate are discussed in detail.

The book is appropriate for children in first grade, second grade, or third grade as well as kindergarten.
