THE QUEST FOR 200 MPH WITH BATTERIES! ELECTRIC DRAGSTER TEAM AIM TO BEAT DON GARLITS TO HISTORIC RUN

Enjoy this shocking electric drag racing world record attempt as Steve Huff Motorsports sets out to beat “Big Daddy” Don Garlits and all others to the world’s first 200 mph electric dragster pass. This electric race car named “Current Technology” would leave many gas cars in the dust, making over 1,100 horsepower and putting out 800 volts and 2000 amps. Come with us as we follow Motorsports veteran Steve Huff throughout the weekend at Auto Club Dragway as he chases down Garlits’ 189 mph record. The 53 year old racer from Seattle, Washington loves driving and problem solving, which makes this project perfect for him. After consulting with some of the brightest electrical engineers, mechanical engineers and drag racers in the world Huff has rolled out an AC axial flux motor with a transmission, clutch and flywheel. Countless research and development hours have been poured into this project as Steve and team tread in water where no one as ever been before. Several automobile manufacturers have conferred with Huff including GM in their development of the Copo Camaro. Only motorcycle drag racer and works record holder Larry “Spiderman” McBride has been over 200 mph on the drag strip with an electric machine, an Orange County Choppers and Lawless industries electric drag bike motorcycle. Steve has compared notes with McBride as well. The big difference is McBride’s machine and Garlits’ ride are DC direct current power. Huff’s AC dragster is ground breaking.
