My abstract acrylic painting has
My abstract acrylic painting has a strip of gold leaf in the lower third, which I apply with gel. To get a straight edge, I use my washi painter's tape. After this work is done, I grab my flat brush and start to design my "sky" above the horizon (the gold leaf). I use a glaze technique and apply the acrylic paint with a lot of water. Below the gold leaf, the abstract picture is painted in darker acrylic colors. With the hard pastel chalk I set different lines and create shadows underneath the strip of gold leaf. Thanks to the glaze technique, the abstract acrylic painting appears very pastel and soft.
