सोमनाथ मन्दिर भूमण्डल में दक्षिण एशिया स्थित भारतवर्ष के पश्चिमी छोर पर गुजरात नामक प्रदेश स्थित, अत्यन्त प्राचीन व ऐतिहासिक शिव मन्दिर का नाम है। यह भारतीय इतिहास तथा हिन्दुओं के चुनिन्दा और महत्वपूर्ण मन्दिरों में से एक है। इसे आज भी भारत के 12 ज्योतिर्लिंगों में सर्वप्रथम ज्योतिर्लिंग के रूप में माना व जाना जाता है। गुजरात के सौराष्ट्र क्षेत्र के वेरावल बन्दरगाह में स्थित इस मन्दिर के बारे में कहा जाता है कि इसका निर्माण स्वयं चन्द्रदेव ने किया था, जिसका उल्लेख ऋग्वेद में स्पष्ट है।
Somnath Temple is the name of a very ancient and historical Shiva temple, located in the western part of India, located in the state of Gujarat, located in South Asia. This temple has been a symbol of the history of rise and fall of Hindu religion. Due to being very luxurious, this temple was broken and renovated many times in history. The reconstruction of the present building was started by the Iron Man Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel after the independence of India and on 1st December 1955, Dr. Rajendra Prasad, the President of India dedicated it to the nation.Somnath Temple is a world famous religious and tourist destination. A one-hour sound and light show runs in the temple premises from 7.30 to 8.30 pm, in which the history of Somnath temple is beautifully illustrated. According to folklore, it is here that Shri Krishna left his body. Due to this the importance of this area increased even more.
The work of arrangement and operation of Somnathji's temple is under Somnath Trust. The government has made arrangements for income by giving land, gardens and gardens to the trust.
