Update: I finally replaced the
Update: I finally replaced the entire Melzi control board with a newer version directly from Monoprice and the temperature swings are gone. None of these upgrades were done to the new one and it "just works". The board I have that's working is labeled 2016 V3.5.
This is a grounding mod to the Wanhao Duplicator i3 V2, Monoprice Maker Select and Cocoon Create. Based on feedback from the Wanhao Printer 3d group (https://goo.gl/mh1OhG).
Connecting:
ETEMP GND to power supply GND
HOTBED to power supply GND
Processor capacitor to power supply GND
Don't forget to go through PID tuning and store the results in EEPROM when completed. https://goo.gl/QepUod
