Cultural Beijing — Temple of Heaven

The Temple of Heaven combines some of Beijing's most iconic architecture with one of the city's largest and liveliest parks. Not really a single temple, the Temple of Heaven is an altar complex that was once exclusively used by the emperors. Opened as a public park in 1918, the stately grounds today are a place for residents and visitors to work out, practice tai chi, and enjoy the serenity and history of this majestic site.
