Discovering the Dark Side: Troubleshooting ROKR AK-47's Rubber Band Chuck

In this video I will show you how to test and fix your @Robotime ROKR AK-47 single fire and burst fire mode before you continue to assemble the rest of the model.
First things first, you need to make sure that you’ve assembled the rubber band chuck, the fire selector and the notch next to the fire selector correctly.
Then make sure they are placed in the correct places.
You must test that the rubber band chuck can only be turned 90 degrees towards the rear of the model and not towards the tip of the model.
If it can only turn one or two turns towards the tip of the ak-47 and not continuously turn towards the back of it, then you must check if the rubber band chuck box is too tight because the shaft sleeves have been pushed in too tightly.
You can use anything that’s very thin and sturdy to loosen the shaft sleeves.
Once loosened, try and turn the rubber band chuck towards the back of the ak-47, and if it keeps turning and can’t be turned forwards, then that issue has been fixed.
Now move on to the fire selector and make sure that it has been assembled and placed in the correct place, and also the notch next to it has been assembled correctly and placed in the correct place because of not, you won’t be able to use ‘burst fire’.
Then to test that the fire selector turns properly, you can use your fingers to turn it anticlockwise from the Bolt side of the ak-47 or skip steps to assemble a little cover to help you turn it with ease, or just poke a little thing like a screwdriver in the little leg next to the fire selector and push it away from the fire selector and also turn the selector at the same time.
If it turns and stops, brilliant, you’re on the right track.
Then put all the covers and the screw back in the place and test the ak-47.
To test the single shot, turn the rubber band chuck towards the back of the ak47 90 degrees until it ‘clicks’. Then put a double folded rubber band on the rubber band chuck and run it to the tip of the ak47. The double fold another rubber band and place it on the buffer hook and run it also towards the front of the ak-47 and then pull the trigger once and the rubber band from the buffer hook should fire and be replaced with the rubber band that was on the rubber band chuck, then pull the trigger again and it should release the last rubber band.
Now that the single fire is working, test the burst fire.
Now go and turn the fire selector anticlockwise from the side of the bolt until it stops turning.
Then place a double folded rubber band on the rubber band chuck just like mentioned above but now, instead of placing a band on the bolt, just turn the chuck 90 degrees towards the back of the ak-47 and then load another rubber band on the next free ‘hook’ shall I say.
And just keep on repeating it.
Let’s say you want to fire 6 rubber bands. So place the first one on the chuck, then turn it, place another on the chuck and turn it, and so on until the 5th one has been placed on the chuck.
Once the last second band has been placed on the chuck, make sure you do not turn the chuck and place the 6th/last rubber band on the buffer hook instead of the chuck, and then fire by holding the trigger until all the bands have fired.
And if they have, you’re good to go and ready to complete the rest of the ak-47 assembly and happy firing folks 😃
